Domestic Short Hair - Griselda - Small - Adult - Female - Cat
DOB 10/1/09, negative FeLV/FIV, microchipped. Griselda & her kittens (2 were around 1 yr old; 4 were 6 wks old) came to Challenger's House on March 15, xxxx. The man rescued her in xxxx after she had babies under his motor home. He took them inside but then he had to be hospitalized for a couple of months so friends were keeping them for him. In February xxxx, Griselda presented them with 4 more kittens. While Griselda was being prepped for spay surgery, the techs found that her left rear leg would not straighten so the vet looked at it & determined that there was an old break that had healed. Turns out it had healed badly. See photo 2. The bone shaped like a "C" should be straight & the white pieces around it are most likely fragments from a bullet. Griselda gets along fine, doesn't have too much of a limp & can jump OK (she made it to the counter). She's not too sure about the other cats & the dog but if they leave her alone, she leaves them alone. Unlike some cats with no tail, she uses the litterbox 100% of the time so no problems there. UPDATE 7/18/11: While she still doesn't like the dog, Griselda has made friends with the 2 male cats (one is 8 yrs old & the other is almost 1 year). She plays with them & they groom each other. It took a while but she is now very friendly & loves to be held.
